What is Official Acadamic Transcript ?
How to get Transcripts from your university?
How to get Transcripts from your High School?
How to Send Transcripts to US Schools?

What is Official Acadamic Transcript? Your official academic transcript from your university lists all the subjects that you have taken in the colleges and your marks earned in the semester. These are 'official' ones since they will be issued by your university.Transcrcipts are nothing but the official copies of marks lists you have received at the end of the semester.
You need to submit transcripts from all schools/universities you attended. ( 10th standard, +2, and B.E/B.tech etc).
How to get Transcripts from your univeversity?
You can request your transcripts at the university's registar office. You need a fill a specified form by your university and submit it to university with the required amount. Some universities require that you need to forward this from on the behalf of your college. Different universities in india had diffrent approaches to issue transcripts.
This is how universities prepare your transcripts:
1) They will make color xerox or copy of your marksheet.
2) Transcripts will have official signature of universities registar and university stamps.
3) Transcripts will be closed in an envelop.
4) Envelopes will be sealed and will have university stamp on it.

How to get Transcripts from your High School?
For 10th standard and +2 transcripts you can get copy of the original certificates and get them attested/notarised from your schools.
How much will it cost to apply for transcripts?
Each university will have different pricing for transcripts. Universities will charge 40 rupess to 1000 rupees for each transcript.
Suppose, you are applying to 1 university and now you are in final year first semeter. By this time you will have 6 transcripts. and Let us assume that each transcript will cost 100 Rs.
Cost of 1 transcript: Rs. 100
Cost of 6 transcripts: 100 x 6 = 600 - (since you have total of 6 transcripts by the final year first sem)
so, one set of transcript costs 600 Rs. If the university you are applying requires 2 sets of transcripts you need to request 2 sets from your university which would cosr 600 x 2 = 1200.
How many sets of transcripts do i need to send to American universities?
Most of the universities ask you for 2 sets where as few univs ask for 1set.
How to Send Transcripts to US Schools?
In general, you can get transcripts from your undergrad university and post it to American College. Few american colleges exepect the offical transcripts to be sent directly from your university.

How to Select Universities for MS,Phd, MBA in US for Fall 2011 - Choose your Final Destination

How to select universities for MS in US

Topics      Factors be to considered in Finalizing a university for MS, PhD, MBA in US

Cost of Education and Reputation of the school: Most important factor in finalizing a university is cost of education and reputation. Filter the universities you got admission based on cost of education. Select the University with less cost of education for its reputation.
Schools with less than $6000 for 9 credit hours (3 courses) are considered to be less expensive schools.
Assistantships / Fee waivers / scholarships: Funding is important for most of the international students. If school’s tuition is high then look into assistantships or fee waivers available in the school. They will cover most of your Tuition. Don’t join in the schools which never offer funding for masters graduates.
Top vs Average Universities: If your university is much reputed and you didn’t get any assistantship from the university and you got full funding from another average school, select the one with full funding with the condition that top school doesn’t have high salaried placement record.
Sometimes your department may not have sufficient funds to provide assistantships. Check if other departments are providing funding for student outside their depts.
Schools in Big Cities and Internships:  Decide a University with less tuition fee in Urban areas. These schools will have good internship opportunity records. Easy to get internships if you are a student of schools in urban area. Salary from your Internship would help you to pay the school fee.
Dealing with less salaried majors: Don’t spend much money for non regular majors like environmental, civil, bio-tech, biomedical etc, pharmacy, chemistry etc. If you are a students from these majors particularly select schools only with less tuition and good funding. Forget about reputation of schools for these majors since you will not be paid much after graduation wherever you study.

Placement records: Look into the placement record of the school. Immediate placement after masters will give your money back in short time. Also keep eye on average salaries from placements for your major. Also see how many companies are interested to sponsor H1B visas to the graduates.
Easy course work: Decide a school where grading of exams is easy.
Duration of Study: New trend in selecting schools is to choose the one with one year masters degree. Duration of one and half year degree is also ok.
Non thesis option:  With non thesis option in your masters you can complete degree in short time.  Thesis option involves doing some research in your field to get your degree, which may take long time.
Selecting university for PhD in USA: For PhD guys mostly all universities offer funding. You just need to look into reputation and ranking of university. Choose School which has best research facilities in your research area.
Selecting university for MBA in USA: More industry tie ups more placements in MBA schools. Ranking is most important in choosing MBA School. Your B-school reputation plays key role in getting good job. As you already know funding is also important if you want to get rid of the burden paying high school fees.
Good luck in deciding your final destination…  :)

25 Washington U. (Olin) $42,000 $109,000 160%
As this table shows, the average salary increase ranges from 138% at UT Austin to 211% at NYU (Stern).
The key takeaway from this table is that there is some cap on the amount recruiters are willing to pay first-year MBAs without regard to their pre-MBA work experience – which we explicitly assume is closely tied to the pre MBA salaries.
Before you take this table too seriously, we want to clearly state that these numbers are simply averages. If you decide upon graduation that you would like to work for a small start up and a nice options package (we concede those days are probably gone until the business cycle comes full circle again) or if you decide to work for a large Fortune 500 with good job benefits and security, then you are NOT going to make the these 6 figure salaries your first year out of business school.
* Pre MBA salaries are estimates we developed from many sources. Certain business schools do not collect this information from their incoming students. Those schools that do report these salaries use self-reported information anyway.
